Pulsed Dye Laser คืออะไร ?

Pulsed-dye laser or more recently known as the Vbeam laser system; its latest technology has been improved to specifically target the blood vessels and does not cause damage to the surrounding tissues. Hence, it can treat various vascular conditions and pigmented lesions.

What Pulsed Dye Laser can treat ?

• Birthmarks: port wine stain
• Haemangioma
• Broken capillaries on the cheeks, nose or legs
• Rosacea
• Redness: post acne redness, scars, and stretch marks

How does Pulsed Dye Laser work ?

The laser energy is delivered at the wavelength of 595nm, passing through the skin and specifically absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin in the blood vessels without damaging the surrounding tissues. There is a cooling system that transmits a cold spray on to the skin before the laser is released, to minimise the discomfort during the treatment. So, anaesthesia is not necessary prior to treatment.

What to expect and do after treatment ?

Vbeam laser is safe and effective, though it may require multiple treatments for the optimal result. The reaction after laser depends on the skin condition, and laser setting that was performed. You may experience some bruising for a couple of days or only mild redness for a few hours. Avoid direct sun exposure for the next 1-2 weeks after treatment.
